David Freed is an instrument-rated pilot, produced Hollywood screenwriter, and a former staff writer for the Los Angeles Times. He was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal for Community Service, and shared in a Pulitzer for the newspaper's coverage of the Rodney King riots.
