Autorenporträt
Larid Johnson, the author of The Tiger and The Strawberry Queen, was born and raised in Vernal, Utah. The small rural town of Vernal is located in the northeastern part of Utah next to Colorado and Wyoming. Larid spent his younger days hunting, trapping, and fishing in the mountains and Streams around the area. He attended Utah State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife management. Upon graduation, he was offered a position as a biologist with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. His primary job was to protect sheep from coyotes. He loved his job. For more than thirty years Larid helped the sheep ranchers in Wyoming control predator problems. He loved his job and liked getting up early in the morning to go to work. After retiring, Larid Wrote his first book, Yellow Dog Eight which is about the many characters and experiences encountered during his career. His second book, The Thinking Rock is about a comparison between his successful family and the status quo. The current book The Tiger and The Strawberry Queen is about the struggle on losing his best friend, his wife.
