In Venezuela, as in other Latin American countries, constitutional changes have taken place to transform the educational, political, economic and institutional landscape. Information and communication technologies have shaped society since the end of the last century, which implies that they have been established in this 21st century with the fourth Industrial Revolution. Universities are taking on the challenge to offer careers under other study modalities, but they must be aware of the type of education that the nation requires. For this, it is necessary to train university teachers through training courses on the use and management of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to serve those students who opt for mixed study modalities (face-to-face and distance learning), and thus ensure improvements in the teaching-learning process. All of this means that universities should review their curricula to ensure that they are relevant to the needs of incoming students.
