Autorenporträt
Catherine Lucille Moore, known professionally as C. L. Moore, was an influential American science fiction and fantasy writer, born on January 24, 1911, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She rose to prominence in the 1930s and was one of the first women to write extensively in the science fiction and fantasy genres. Moore s pioneering work helped pave the way for future generations of female speculative fiction writers. Her stories often blended elements of science fiction with fantasy and adventure, gaining her widespread recognition. Moore was married twice, first to Henry Kuttner, a fellow science fiction writer, from 1940 until his death in 1958, and later to Thomas Reggie in 1963. She was awarded the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement in recognition of her contributions to the genre. Moore s influence remains significant, as her works have inspired countless authors and helped shape the development of speculative fiction. She passed away on April 4, 1987, in Hollywood, California, at the age of 76. Her legacy continues to resonate within the science fiction and fantasy communities.
