Autorenporträt
Dr. Munden has been practicing medicine for thirty-five years. Twenty-six of those years have been spent in the field of Addiction Medicine. He has delivered hundreds of presentations in his career to a wide variety of audiences. He has spoken to audiences at county medical societies, in-patient and out patient treatment programs, university students and small community groups who requested a speaker. Other than small honorariums, he has volunteered his services because of his passion to help. He has given more than twenty years of volunteer service to the county and state organizations that help impaired physicians. He was a drug addict for eighteen years, from a teenager to age thirty-five. He has experienced what he has taught others about. He admits, his brutal honesty about this disease may have created some controversy, but he is not in the field to impress anyone. He has been interviewed for publications in the Texas Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Associations magazines along with articles in the Austin American Statesman at various times over the years. He has testified in several court cases but has turned down the majority of requests. His experience he says cannot be bought. He is currently certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is a fellow of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is also a Medical Review Officer for drug screens and a trained and experienced interventionist.
