If Laurie were a dog, she would clearly be a border collie. Upon retirement from a career in public education, she launched into a new life that centered on dogs. She created a dog humor website, developed an online agility magazine, authored two agility training books, one of which was a finalist as best training book of the year. During all these years, she participated in dog sports including sled dog driving, scent work, and herding. But agility is her true love. She has been a competitor, teacher, and observer of this amazing sport since its early days. Most recently, she decided to become a cartoonist. The result is a cartoon series called Our Dog Pack. From the time Kelly was a kid, there was a dog at her side. As an adult, agility and scent work have been her obsessions. Her current sidekick is Dot, a four-year-old Australian Shepherd. Dot, her second agility dog, is a powerhouse on course. Kelly competes in AKC, USDAA, and CPE agility. She loves the competition and camaraderie of dog sports. She brings her unique insights about agility and her sharp sense of humor to this book.
