This story is of a generation of people who left the pre-World War I poverty of the Tyrolean Alps for better opportunities in the coal mines of Wyoming in America. Later, when mining affected their health or the work became too hazardous, they moved to either the farmlands of Weber County Utah or the City of Ogden Utah; all the while maintaining the traditions, language, and patronage of the communities left behind in the "Old Country."
