Maqasid al-shari'ah is one of the discipline in Islamic jurisprudence that combines the elements of usul al-fiqh and qawa'id al-fiqhiyyah. This article focuses on the discussion of maqasid al-shari'ah from the view of usul al-Fiqh that aims to discuss some of the mechanism of masalik al-'illah in building the objectives of shari'ah. The methodology used is content analysis from the ideas of traditional as well as contemporary scholars in Islamic jurisprudence. The study finds that usul al-fiqh plays significant role in establishing the objectives of shari'ah in general view and contributes ideas and opinions in designing the methodologies, parameters and characteristics based on several cases and samples on shari'ah law.
