One day, Casey is lured into her mother's old room towards a magic necklace, which transports her to Alagia. There Casey learns from a warrior clan devoted to protecting the people of Alagia that there is a prophecy written about her and Kate. It foretells that they will turn against one another and face each other in a battle for Alagia's conquest. Soon after Casey's arrival, Kate arrives in Alagia and is captured by Azlaya's forces. The sisters begin to see each other as enemies and train in anticipation of the impending battle that may only leave one survivor.
