The Unskinny Princess is a charming story about a sweet and plump little princess who loves everybody. But not everyone loves Charity, especially her beautiful (and horribly mean) sister Juliet! She only cares about clothes, getting attention, and especially boys. But when handsome and wise Prince Lucas comes along, everything seems to change! Will Princess Charity lose again? In this amusing tale about family and character, The Unskinny Princess presents important concepts for children and life. They are easy to understand, while challenging and thought-provoking. Its 27, full-page, ink-and-watercolor illustrations are delicate representations of medieval life, architecture, clothing, and other details. This story also includes themes of nature, animals, and compassion for the poor and outsiders.
Autorenporträt
I am a traditional woman who values God Almighty, the arts, and uncommon sense. Humanity and my children are my greatest treasures - but often they are also a scourge. Assuming most people feel the same makes it easier accept the confounding things they do and to predict what may happen next. I've often guessed correctly but am not about to crown myself a prophet. At times I've excelled in science and logic, worked in the arts, and done a number of jobs I hated (God save me from law offices) and others I merely tolerated. I have failed at a fair number of things, like many of you, but we don't need to go into all that do we? These myriad experiences - from ballroom dance instructor to working in a print shop - add background and local color to my writing. My degrees are in English and Technical Writing. I also went through nursing school and attended art college. I fully expect the world to end at any time, but have extensive goals and projects ready in case it doesn't.
