Epilepsy is a common chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures can occur due to many different cellular or biochemical changes such as alterations in ion channel function,neurotransmitter level (excitatory and inhibitory) , neurotransmitter receptor function, energy metabolism,electrolytes level and oxidative stress. This study investigate that atorvastatin and L-carnitine had antiepileptic effects through their action on cholesterol biosynthesis, free radicals ,electrolytes and glutamate receptors.
