The main purpose of this study was to identify issues related to the practice of Music Teaching on the Maltese Islands with particular emphasis on issues of diversity and the use of learning styles and/or patterns. Recently teaching and learning in general on the Maltese Islands has focussed very much on differentiated teaching and on the ways in which this can be accomplished. The author was interested and has used a way to accomplish this using the Let Me Learn Process, essentially a frame of reference for the use of metacognition and learning patterns, to train teachers. The author was also able to apply what she had learnt in this area to her own practice as a music teacher. Examples of this practice are the basis of the author s thinking throughout this research.
