It defines and describes teaching statistics, emphasizing goals such as improving statistical literacy and communication, developing practical skills, and understanding the rationale behind statistical analyses. It also explores challenges educators face, such as student disinterest, difficulty level, relevance, student diversity, and integration with other subjects. Additionally, it examines the use of computer-assisted teaching in statistics education, highlighting both its challenges and benefits. The second section presents a survey analyzing the responses of 578 students from the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science, who answered 20 questions about their experiences with various statistics courses.
