George's words, laced with humor and authenticity, are a time capsule back to a simpler time. These reflections from his life span decades and time zones, but stay squarely focused on the threads he's woven throughout: faith and family. This is a treasure trove of true stories and reflections of a life well lived for God. -Vikki Spencer, M.Ed., author of FearLessFridays: Notes from a Small Woman in a Big Big World. I began at a young age writing songs and poems; I've been doing that my whole life. When I started writing my stories, I took that same poetic prose and applied it to my writing. The book starts out in the vault that is in my mind, and wanders through a life completely devoid of anything that would resemble a career. My readers are often surprised where the next story will take them. Starting out in Minnesota, to Washington State, on to Canada just south of the Arctic Circle, all the way down to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in the Caribbean, and finally ending up in the beautiful mountains of Western Montana. I hope you will enjoy what has taken me a whole lifetime to experience. George Guest lives in Stevensville, Montana with his wife, Millie, and is surrounded by his 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is a retired builder of custom homes, and has worn many other hats over his 74 years, including logger, welder, railroad lineman, truck driver, counselor, missionary, and some he cannot remember. Because he never had a "career" or stayed in one place, his life took many twists and turns. The memoirs contained herein reflect that. His gift of storytelling from the time he was young began to work its way out in the form of songs and poems in his younger years, and now as written stories compiled into this book. For comments or questions, George can be found on Facebook.
