French entered Africa through colonization. Today, however, there are several varieties of French spoken in French-speaking African countries. There has been a certain appropriation of the language by Africans. As a result, there are several types of French spoken in Africa. In Burkina Faso, these different uses of French are also found, including rap. A flourishing cultural and social phenomenon, its followers often impose a particular way of using the French language. A marginal language, this musical genre can, however, be literary in scope. This language has been the focus of our various analyses. Today, this musical genre is listened to by many young people, and this listening is no longer confined to urban youth, but also extends to those from precarious neighborhoods. Their interest in rap can be justified by the fact that this musical genre speaks to them and takes their concerns into account, through the themes it evokes. This interest in rap could therefore be used to educate them and instill certain values in the classroom.
