Robert Whitbey grew up in Shafter, CA. He attended California State University, Bakersfield, the University of Wyoming and Point Loma University. He has been a high school science teacher for over a decade and an adjunct college professor for half that time. Prior to that he spent many years working in agricultural research. His hobbies include reading, writing, gardening and golf. He has published two books. His first, How to Become a Reluctant Prepper and Why it's OK to be One, is published under his pen name, The Reluctant Prepper. His second book, The Angel, is a superhero fantasy novel based in California's Central Valley. His favorite authors are Peter Clines and Mark Tufo. He currently resides in Bakersfield, CA with his wife, Lacy, and two sons, Dylan and Jack.
