Autorenporträt

Leanna Brodie is a playwright, translator, and actor whose work has been performed across Canada, the USA, the UK, and New Zealand. Ulläs Odyssey, her award-winning opera with Anthony Young, toured the UK with OperaUpClose. She is also a leading translator of a new generation of Québécois playwrights, their productions shown in Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Toronto, Montréal, and Chicago. Brodie has been playwright-in-residence at the Blyth Festival, 4th Line Theatre, Lighthouse Festival Theatre, and Gateway Theatre. She is a two-time alumna of the Banff Playwrights Lab and Hedgebrook and in 2019, she completed her fourth Glassco Residency in Translation, translating Gilles Poulin-Denis¿ Dehors for the Arts Club Theatre. Talon has published her The Book of Esther, The Box Closet, Schoolhouse, and The Vic.
