Meet Miles and Jaden, two cousins and best friends whose day at the beach with their family turns into an unexpected adventure. Hoisted into the air by their balloons, they are whisked away on an unforgettable ride. Even as their family scrambles in panic below, the view from above looks peaceful for the two boys, who see the world and all its beauty from a different perspective. The boys' unintended balloon ride brings everyone together, proving that even though every family is unique, we are all united by love.

Autorenporträt
Amy Humann came from a literary family. Starting with her grandfather, a gifted raconteur, to her poetry reciting grandmother, to her parents, who constantly read to her and her siblings with a commitment and dedication approaching performance art, the stars seemed aligned that she would one day find her own voice as a writer. Bill Peet, Dr. Seuss, and Shel Silverstein all made their mark at a formative age, instilling in her a love of rhyme, meter, and the wonderfully absurd. Though Humann wrote and illustrated countless stories between the ages of four and ten, life took her in other directions, including a long-time career in retail with a special focus on the fashion industry, which saw her doing everything from managing and merchandising, to buying and even modeling. Years later, it was researching and writing her Grandmother Cecily's life story for an eighty-seventh birthday tribute that reignited Amy's own artistic flame. Not long after, her husband's paternal grandmother, Sheila Dineen, shared a rough idea for a children's book about her beloved grandchildren, Miles and Jaden. Though Sheila would pass away with her own dreams of authorship unrealized, Humann took up the mantle and began work on what would become The View from Above. Amy Humann continues to take inspiration from her family, and is currently planning a new story about her daughter, Wesley. When she isn't busy being a full-time mom to a crazy toddler (which isn't often), Amy runs marathons, enjoys boating on the delta, draws and paints, and occasionally indulges in her love of fashion and vintage costume jewelry. She lives in Concord, California, with the aforementioned screaming toddler and her husband, Bob.
