Fernand Dumont (1927-1997) was a professor of sociology at Laval University. He wrote a number of books, including: Pour la conversion de la pensée chrétienne, Le Lieu de l'homme: la culture comme distance et mémoire , La Dialectique de l'objet économique, and Chantiers: essais sur la pratique des sciences de l'homme.
