James T. Costa is executive director of Highlands Biological Station and Professor of Biology at Western Carolina University in America. A naturalist, and Darwin and Wallace scholar, his books include The Annotated Origin, Darwin, Wallace, and the Origin of Species, Darwin's Backyard: How Small Experiments Led to a Big Theory, and Radical by Nature: The Revolutionary Life of Alfred Russel Wallace.
