Salcedo River has been identified as one of the four main rivers of Salcedo to have an economic potential. It is an important water resource for the area supplying water for humans and livestock, transportation and a source of recreation. Despite the importance of the river to the livelihood, health and well-being of the inhabitants living in the area, very little are known for its water quality. The growing problem of degradation and human activities within the river system has made it important for the monitoring of water quality of the river to evaluate the state of pollution. The results and findings will give an idea to the Local Government Units, Municipal Leaders, Municipal Environmental Planners or students who will be interested in a scientific and community-base approach on river management.
