Autorenporträt
Cornelia Wagner, born and raised in Germany, has always been drawn to literature. Already in primary school, the girl had a deep fascination with reading and writing stories, using them to escape her reality. She wrote her first published story in fourth grade for the contest Schreibtalente. During all of her teenage years, Wagner took every chance she had at creative writing, whether it was an academic essay or the first chapter of a novel that would never be finished. Somewhere along the way, a new interest emerged: poetry. She found herself appreciating the ability of a poem to touch souls and tear up eyes with only a minimal number of words and quickly felt comfortable expressing herself within the verses. The work The Way I Am is the essence of that; true, utmost authenticity not only to herself but also to the world.
