Larry Wakefield had lived in the Grand Traverse region with his wife Lucille for over 60 years. His columns had appeared every other week in the Traverse City Record Eagle local newspaper. Mr. Wakefield wrote sixteen books on historic events of the region. He died in 2007 at the age of 93.
