The Way of Water is a sensitive, charming, and often witty look at life in the mountains of Northern California. Riedell uses a tender voice to reveal the complexity of seemingly simple moments. These are poems that seek meaning in the struggles of life, love and dental work.

Autorenporträt
Michael Riedell was born and raised in San Diego County and currently lives in Ukiah, California. A writer of poems and songs, he has had work featured in national poetry magazines as large as the Lilliput Review and Brevities, and in a regional anthology, Small Mirrors. He is a three-time first place winner of the ukiaHaiku contest, has long been a member of the Ukiah Poet Laureate Committee and now helps judge the ukiaHaiku contest. He spends his days teaching adolescents the correct uses of semicolons and the collective wisdom of the western canon; at night he strums guitar and sings to the chagrin of both his wife, Kate, and their hypercritical canine, Kona the Wonder Dog.
