Born in Florida but raised in Nebraska, Paige VanWinkle developed a love for children's literature by cherishing the time she spent reading her kids' favorite books to them. Like most families, the VanWinkles have lost their fair share of socks over the years, and after a particularly long afternoon of folding laundry, Paige theorized these missing socks were escaping through the dryer vent. Thus, the idea for Wendall was born! In addition to writing stories about adventurous socks, Paige works as a registered nurse in Kearney, Nebraska. She likes to read, watch movies, and spend time with her family, friends, and numerous pets. Paige and her husband, Darren, are the parents of four children: Peyton, Renner, Gabriel, and Ava.
