Autorenporträt
Diane Kramer grew up in Chicago suburbia the fourth of six children. She received her Bachelor of Education degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and continued to live in the Kansas City area, raising her family of three children there. Currently, she and her husband have retired to Lawrence, Kansas where they are fortunate to enjoy their wonderful brood of four grandchildren who live close by. Growing up, Diane was always happiest when involved in every extracurricular activity available to her. She continued this crazy lifestyle until pivotal events in her adult life prompted her to pull back, to take stock, and to consider her need for self-care. She learned how to say "no", to clear her calendar of the clutter, and to invest her time in activities that truly brought her joy. She considers this revelation to be the one of her most valuable life lessons. Recently, Diane has embarked on a new journey as a writer, and has published three books to date. "Palpitations" recalls some of her most memorable and poignant moments in her thirty-seven years of mothering. Her children's book, "Shoo! Nasty Bug, Don't Bother Me!" is about the challenges children face living through a pandemic such as Covid19. All royalties from this book go to Direct Relief for PPE and to the support and benefit of our front-line workers. Her first novel is entitled "The Weavers and The Shuttles Fly" spins a story of four generations of a family, torn apart and woven together in unexpected and unimaginable ways. It is the compelling tale of love and loss, joy and despair, triumph and tragedy, and hope for things seen and unseen. This work is due to be released in December, 2020. Diane looks forward to continuing her writing during her retirement years as it is an investment in time that brings her considerable joy.
