The hilarious story of a man's marriage falling apart and his desperate attempt to win his wife back... Charlie Geddis is a local reporter in the quiet town of Ballymenace, so bored of his life that his wife Barbara has no choice but grant him the space he craves by showing him the door. With nothing to fill his time but the bottle, Charlie becomes obsessed with saving his marriage. But Malcolm Palmer, an Aston Martin driving property developer, has already whisked his wife away. Can Charlie compete with his new-found nemesis? He doesn't think so. Unless he brings him down a notch. Dusting off his investigative skills, Charlie embarks on a mission to blemish Palmer's image and, before long, gets mixed up in a web of intrigue involving bribes, infidelities and possibly murder. Pulling no punches, seriously comical, with a smashing finale and a cameo appearance by U2, Charlie's adventures will bring tears to your eyes. Light-hearted and full of laugh-out-loud moments, if you like a cozy mystery with a good dash of humour, this book is for you! Great for fans of Caimh McDonnell, Richard Osman, Graham Norton, and Nick Spalding!
