Dave Raymond, lead guitarist of New Jersey wedding band The Wishbones, dreams of rock fame. He's thirty-one years old and still lives with his parents, but that's a small price to pay for the freedom to play the music he loves. But Dave has just got engaged to a girl who dreams of a regular life, and even worse, the future of the band is in jeopardy - Ian's writing a musical about the Kennedy assassination, Buzzy is so drunk he can barely strum and Stan's wife has just slapped a restraining order on him. Not even a wild affair with an eccentric poet in the heart of the Village can help Dave, as together the band careens towards its collective destiny and Dave stumbles towards his wedding day.
