Autorenporträt
The author is presently retired after a long 30 year career in public education as a teacher, counselor and school administrator. Much of his career was engaged with elementary students but in addition he taught college level courses in psychology and administered several public elementary and secondary schools. He is particularly expert at teacher effectiveness strategies and understands the manner in which young children learn to read and retain learning. In retirement he occupies his time on a large ranch in Oregon maintaining and caring for the many domestic and wild animals that he shares the land with. The illustrator is the son of the author and is employed full-time as a contract federal police officer. He also with his wife manages a large apartment complex. He has won several art competitions during his early life and pursues his art on a part-time basis
