The greatest guilt in war is watching your best friend die and then being grateful it wasn't you. Staff Sergeant Mack Murphy is on a routine reconnaissance mission in the mountains of Afghanistan to gather intelligence on the emerging insurgency. His Force Recon team stumbles into battle-hardened insurgents from the surrounding Arab states. Forced into a game of cat and mouse, Mack harnesses his skills as a Marine Sniper to keep the enemy from gaining the upper hand, but the situation becomes more dire with each passing moment. Mack didn't think things could get any worse, and then they did. An urgent Red Cross call from the states pushes Mack beyond the breaking point. It becomes clear that no amount of training could have prepared him for the desolation that lies ahead. Author Bio Dr. Terrence O'Malia is a Family Physician, disabled Veteran, Former Marine, world traveler and author of The Wolf Hunter. After graduating Medical School, he moved his wife and three daughters to rural Mississippi. After a wonderful year practicing medicine along the Natchez Trace in Mississippi, the mountains started calling his name. He relocated his family to the Flathead Indian Reservation in Polson, MT, where he worked as an Emergency Physician for four years. Always in search of new adventures he then moved to the Alaskan Bush, where he traveled to remote Inupiaq and Yupik villages by prop plane to bring healthcare to the natives in rural Alaska. He now lives in the Mountains of Montana where he owns his own private clinic. His true passion in life is Medical Missions. He travels regularly to Zambia where he conducts medical clinics in many remote villages around the copper belt. While he is not traveling to Africa or seeing patients in his rural Montana clinic, he is writing about fictional character Mack Murphy, his alter ego, a down on his luck Marine with an anger management problem.
