Born in 1961, James K. Rone is a physician and writer living with his wife, Susan, on their farm outside Nashville. He is a native of South Carolina, son of a newspaper editor, and has also lived in Mississippi and Texas. He is honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, having served on active duty for eleven years, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel (select). Dr. Rone is an amateur military historian, widely read on the history of World War II and the American space program.
