The Wonder of Stillness is a practical guide for parents, teachers, carers, family and friends to help children deal with the stress and challenges of our busy and fast changing world. The introduction sets out the purpose of the book which is to help chidren experience the benefits of quiet time and discover inner peace. The book seeks to achieve this by providing practical guidance to readers using the meditation scripts provided. Definitions of meditation and mindfulness are also included. There is a Practical Guidance section that provides a comprehensive set of practical instructions including setting up the room, children's posture, use of music and drawing materials, selecting the meditation, preparation for and advice on reading out the scripts, affirmations, chanting and advice on regularity of practice. The main part of the book is divided into five sections of meditations: Calming, Uplifting, Creativity, Confidence and Self-Healing, each containing a variety of scripts. Notes are provided at the beginning of each meditation to help set the ideal environment and to provide ideas for discussion and/or creative activity afterwards. A final section includes resources and further reading and includes Testimonials and information about the Author.

Michelle is a qualified meditation instructor, children's yoga teacher, homeopath and lawyer. When her three children were at primary school, she felt the need to support them and their friends through the stress of exams and qualified as a children's yoga teacher to teach yoga and relaxation at their school. The children particularly enjoyed relaxation at the end of the class so she introduced meditation exercises to increase their imagination and creativity as well as helping them to reduce stress levels and discover 'quiet time'. During her career as a City lawyer, Michelle gained insight into the stressful lives that many City workers lead, working long hours with pressurised deadlines. After leaving her full time career in the City, she qualified as a homeopath and later on as a meditation instructor to gain deeper insight into teaching meditation. Michelle includes meditation exercises in an holistic approach to treating homeopathic clients.
