Testimony of the miracle worked on the 20-year-old seminarian Mateo de Rojas, from Huánuco, who in April 1684, on the verge of dying from a severe nosebleed, was "miraculously" cured by applying the relic of a rib of the saintly founder of the college, Toribio Mogrovejo. This was confirmed by the rector of the institution Álvaro de Torres y Bohórquez, his companions (Francisco Claudio de la Serna Espinosa, José Antonio Ruiz de Llantada, Juan Ortiz de Landaeta, Nicolás de Melgosa), two doctors (Melchor Vásquez and José de Sanabria trained at the Faculty of Medicine of San Marcos), and even the protagonist and beneficiary himself. This event helps us to understand the complex cultural world of the Peruvian viceroyalty.
