Roger Walsh MD, PhD, DHL is professor emeritus of psychiatry, philosophy, and anthropology at the University of California at Irvine where he was named as both the University Distinguished Writer and as the Outstanding Physician. His other books include Essential Spirituality: The Seven Central Practices, Paths Beyond Ego, and The World's Great Wisdom. His writings and research have received over 20 national and international awards.
