This volume presents the philosophies of Hume and Kant through their actual writings and through commentary provided by the authors. The selections, which were taken from their major works, were chosen to reflect the wide perspectives of both philosophers. The commentary was designed to develop as well as to interpret the most salient aspects of each philosophy. As with the previous volume, The Worlds of Plato and Aristotle, by the same authors, the inclusion of the works of both philosophers in one volume presents a convenient opportunity for the comparison of their vision and perception of the world. The overall conception of the work is shared, but primary responsibility for Hume belongs to Mr. Allen, and for Kant to Mr. Wilbur.
