How do early and complex trauma experiences affect the psychological development of women in particular and what helps them to cope? These questions were explored in the present study with a special focus on the psychodramatic understanding of disorders and therapy of early and persistent violations of the self-structure. With the help of the so-called grounded theory, a qualitative research method, it could be clarified that in particular so-called mirror experiences support the integration of trauma-specific split-off parts of the self.
