Autorenporträt
Robert Wolf is a playwright, poet, novelist and visual artist. Wolf was a forerunner of the writing workshop movement. Beginning in 1988, he began getting people to write their own stories, starting with the homeless, continuing with farmers and everyday people across the country. In 1990, he established Free River Press, an internationally respected publisher with books in libraries throughout the world. In 2004 Free River Press won the Heritage Preservation Award from State of New Mexico. With his writing workshops, Wolf continues to fire the imagination of people seeking to experience the joy of writing their own stories. His classes, inspired by the writings of Jack Kerouac and Jean Shepherd, are informal, fun and inspiring. His plays have been performed in Chicago, Santa Fe and points between. Wolf's paintings are owned by collectors in New York and Chicago. In the 1980s Wolf wrote a column and features for the Chicago Tribune and was dramaturge for Chicago's legendary Organic Theater. In 1994 he won the Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for Best Radio Editorial of the year.
