As described in Harvard Review, "Joan Aleshire's third collection of poetry, The Yellow Transparents, is about trust. The speaker trusts us to understand and to feel the complexities of trust, to share in her concerns. Our participation is ensured by the poet's voice, the directness of the address, the cleanness of image, as she speaks of childhood dreams extended into the present."
