Autorenporträt

Damian Skinner is an art historian, writer and curator. He has written a number of books about Pakeha and Maori artists, with a special focus on modern art from the middle of the twentieth century, including The Passing World, The Passage of Life: John Hovell and the Art of Kowhaiwhai (Rim Books, 2010), which won the New Zealand Post Book Award for Illustrated Non-fiction in 2011. He completed an MA Thesis about Theo Schoon for the University of Auckland in 1997, and is co-curating an exhibition of Schoon's art that will open at the City Gallery, Wellington, in November 2018.
