Ordination is not only a matter of canons, but of ecclesiology, doctrine, and liturgy as well. The study of the canons can only give hints and clarifying lights in this matter. The exploration of the canonical experience of the Church in order to grasp the modality to answer in certain contextual problems proves to be useful. In the light of these answers we are called ourselves to respond to contemporary pastoral problems. This might be the explanation of one famous quote from Jaroslav Pelikan: ¿tradition is the living faith of the dead and traditionalism is the dead faith of the living¿
