The goal of the manuscript is to expose the main facts of the theory of entire functions and to give their applications to boundary value problems for differential equations with the spectral parameter. We present fundamental results on the growth of entire functions, their factorization, properties of the indicator, and other important properties. Using basic facts of the theory of entire functions, we establish spectral properties of boundary value problems with the spectral parameter and provide the solution of the inverse spectral problem.
