Dr Mudasir Bashir Gugjoo, PhD, is an Assistant Professor (senior scale) at the Division of Veterinary Clinical Complex, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K). He has received his doctorate on mesenchymal stem cell translational studies from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar. He has various awards to his credit including the best faculty teacher, best paper presentation and best review paper. His research interest is to utilize stem cells in regenerative medicine to effectuate the regeneration of ageing and ailing tissue and/or organs. His lab focuses on the therapeutic applications of mesenchymal stem cells in some common ailments of the animals. He has authored more than 60 peer reviewed articles in various reputed journals. Besides the book on stem cells in veterinary sciences, he has authored or co-authored numerous book chapters. He has served as a resource person in numerous trainings. He is a member of various scientific societies and serves on the editorial board of various journals. He is a referee to a number of peer reviewed journals, notably Journal of Cellular Physiology, Cellular Reprogramming, Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy, Macedonian Veterinary Review, BioCell, Veterinary Research Communications, Animals and Theriogenology.
