In one of the world's most beautiful places, amid swaying palms and ocean breezes, Ken Williams battles death and hopelessness. In There Must Be Honor, Ken traces a journey behind the golden façade of Santa Barbara's scenery and into the panting heart of its streets. In one of the world's most beautiful places, amid swaying palms and ocean breezes, Ken Williams battles death and hopelessness. In There Must Be Honor, Ken traces a journey behind the golden façade of Santa Barbara's scenery and into the panting heart of its streets. He calls for honor, for remembrance, for compassion, for the least of us-the hardcore homeless, many of whom are, like him, veterans of our nation's wars. Remember the battlefield with him, and then return to the present as he faces down new enemies in another kind of struggle-the struggle to create compassion. Meet the people he serves, the friends he makes, and the loved ones he loses in his daily journey. There Must Be Honor represents his call for others to join him on that road to hope and a better future. Ken has won numerous accolades and awards for his many years of dedication, and his writing in this volume gives poetic reality to what is often an invisible struggle.
Autorenporträt
Ken Williams is a husband, father, nationally-recognized trainer, speaker, coach and consultant in leadership and school culture. A practitioner for nearly three decades, Ken led the improvement efforts at two schools by leveraging the Professional Learning Communities at Work process. Through his company, Unfold The Soul, Ken is skilled in joining the why of the work to the how of the work. He is known for his powerful and engaging combinations of "heart, humor, and hammer." While his style is inspirational and motivational, he's also known as a status-quo disruptor, warm demander, and an unapologetic identifier of elephants in the room, with his lens firmly fixed on maximizing the collective strengths of educators in the service of high levels of learning for every student. When not working or writing, Ken is often out and about "running errands for no reason" in one of two vintage cars, a 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale convertible or a 1972 Buick Riviera. He's an avid bowler, a lover of classic film, and old-school R&B music. The more of those he can do in a day, the better. He also derives joy from creating memories with family and close friends. Though he hails from New York City, Ken currently lives in Atlanta, GA, with his wife, Nicole, son, Adam, daughter, Mia, and their dog, Murphy.
