This work originated from the Doctoral Thesis defended at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in 2016, by the Graduate Program in Sociology and Law, within the line of research: Rural and Urban Socio-environmental Conflicts. The aim of the study was to investigate the use of crack cocaine among mobile workers in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais in the coffee-growing sector. The field research was carried out during the 2014 harvest in the municipalities of Ervália, Teixeiras, São Miguel do Anta and Araponga.

She has a degree in Cooperative Management from UFV, a sandwich degree from Gadsden State Community College (GSCC), a Master's degree in Administration - Agribusiness from UFMS, and a PhD in Sociology and Law from UFF. She works with social sciences applied to agribusiness.
