Shanna was born and grew up in Tasmania where she enjoyed walking in the bush and studying the clear night skies around Hobart. She moved to Victoria as a teenager and got a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. Since then Shanna has been busy as a researcher, a lecturer, an engineer and a mother. One of her favourite projects was helping school children design an experiment that was sent into space on the shuttle Columbia. After moving around Australia and overseas, she has finally returned home to Tasmania with her family.
