Recently clay based polymer nanocomposites have emerged as a new class of materials and attracted considerable interest and investment in research and development. This is largely due to their new and often much improved mechanical, thermal, barrier and moisture properties as compared to their macro and micro-counterparts. These are considered for applications in a wide variety of areas such as aerospace, marine, electronics, sports goods, and automotive industries. Produktbeschreibung
This book explores the experimental studies on synergistic effect of halogen free fire retardants and influence of nanoclay on the thermal and fire retardation behaviour of vinylester based nanocomposites. The moisture diffusion through polymer nanocomposites studies are mainly focused on Fick's Law of Diffusion and the application of the Langmuir Model for their diffusion behaviour. The influence of basal spacing of the unmodified and organomodified nanoclay on the diffusion behaviour of nanocomposites is mainly discussed.
