Proposed book deals with implementation of advanced techniques for thermal power plant and transmission network management to ensure voltage security and environmental constraints. Further, the objective of this book is to make the detail analysis of direct and indirect methods for the minimization of environmental emissions like Carbon dioxide (CO2), Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and to run the coal based thermal plant at minimum emission level. Other objectives of the study are optimal power flow i.e. Combined Environmental/ Economic Dispatch, Economic Load Dispatch, Economic Emission Dispatch and implementation of advanced controlling device like D-FACTS to minimize the power losses which reduce generation from coal based thermal power plant and further minimize the fuel cost, environmental emissions, etc. This will also improve the power handling capacity of the existing grid and system performance.
