This book is aimed at studying and analysing the supercritical Rankine cycle (SCRC) thermodynamically, i.e., both from the energy efficiency and exergy efficiency point of view. The turbine inlet pressure, turbine inlet temperature, reheat pressure ratio, condenser pressure, boiler flue gas inlet temperature and boiler flue gas outlet temperatures have been identified as key parameters, which affect the performance of the supercritical Rankine cycle. The effect of these parameters on energy efficiency, total exergy loss in each component and exergy efficiency of supercritical Rankine cycle has been analysed. To analyze the supercritical Rankine cycle, it is necessary to have the thermodynamic properties of steam above the critical point. These properties of the steam upto the critical point of it are readily available in the standard steam table for different temperatures at a given pressure or for different pressures at a given temperature. But to find the steam properties at a given temperature and pressure, the thermodynamic relationships are to be used. The relationships to find steam properties at subcritical temperature are simple.
