Tadeusz Rózewicz: Tadeusz Rózewicz was born in 1921 in Radomsko, a town in central Poland. He fought in the Resistance against the Nazis, and after the war studied art history at Krakow University. He has published numerous collections of poetry, and his experimental and often controversial plays have been widely performed. His poetry has been translated into many languages. He lives in Wroclaw, but often travels in Europe and America. He was awarded the Montale Prize in 2003, the latest of many awards and honours.Adam Czerniawski: Adam Czerniawski, born in Warsaw in 1934, is a poet and translator who lives in Wales. As well as translating widely from Polish he has published, both in Polish and English, collections of poetry, short stories, essays and an autobiography. He is a recipient of the Lublin University Norwid Foundation medal and a member of The Welsh Academy.
