Especially if they think they didn't do enough to prevent such a thing from happening to them, or if they themselves caused it. Although Kate was drunk when she was raped by her school mates, she thought that she could enjoy herself without anybody taking advantage of her. Her friend Mandy tried to persuade her not to take revenge on innocent people and destroy their life and their family. Kate promised she would never have a boyfriend because of her rape. Could we say God rewarded Kate for her suffering when the first celebrity she targeted fell in love with her and treated her like a queen? Or could we say that is a part of life? Kate went further and slept with Jackson's friends without thinking about the love and treatment Jackson gave to her.
